Bridget (aka Boo) and Patrick (aka Peaches) were married inside the gorgeous Saint Margaret of Scotland Church, on Chicago’s south side, and had a rip-roaring backyard reception behind Bridget’s parents and neighbor’s houses in the neighborhood of Beverly.

Peaches + Boo 4 Ever

Rainbow Cone showed up and made their famous ice cream cones for everyone.

It was a great time documenting Bridget and Patricks wedding, and I’m not just saying that. They, along with their friends and family, were a dynamic and lively bunch and it shows in the photos. Congratulations to you two!

A few weeks ago, I traveled to the countryside to photograph the outdoor Muslim & Buddhist wedding of Bibi and Ben. Ben and Bibi are graphic designers living in New York. However, their wedding took place at Ben’s parent’s country home, outside of Richmond, Illinois. Richmond is 70 miles northwest of Chicago. It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony, that took place in a small grove on the property.

I got really excited when I learned the ceremony was going to be a combination of Buddhist and Muslim traditions. While traditional weddings in churches can be artistically interesting at times, I would rather capture the non-traditional, in a more visually stimulating environment.

Here’s a slideshow of images I shot as second photographer for a recent wedding. Thanks to Kevin Weinstein for graciously allowing me to second shoot.

The ceremony and reception were held in the 39-floor Penthouse, at Hotel 71, Chicago.

The groom, the groom’s family, and apparently all of his friends at the wedding were British; I was constantly being reminded of the 1975 British sitcom Fawlty Towers (starring John Cleese) throughout the day – I watched the entire series a week prior.
